In October of 2019, NDS Foundation was honored to donate funds for a beautiful place that honors Nicholas’s deep faith and love for this country.
The strain of military service affects every member of a military family: the service members themselves, their spouses, and naturally, their children. These pressures can be overwhelming at times and finding peace in these moments is often difficult on a military base.
The plans for a new Quiet Wing at the USO Naval Station Great Lakes Center was designed to address this important need within military life. The Nicholas D. Sergi Reflection Space will be among a series of spaces for studying, media viewing and small group activities.
The Reflection Space will serve as a fitting tribute to this important aspect of Nick's life. It’s ideal for meditation, prayer or simple, quiet moments, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the center.
